Alan James Buttler, 51, son of Terry & Connie (Curl) Buttler, was born April 8, 1971 in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at his home in Yale, Iowa.

Alan graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1989. Following a year in college, he enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving 4 years. He was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO, and worked in Satellite Communications. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Iowa and started working as an electrician. He soon was a Master Electrician and for the last year was working for the Baker Group.

Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing cards, attending his children’s activities, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed pink flamingos, penguins, and Star Wars.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Buttler of Panora; Jon Buttler of Slidell, LA; Willow Buttler of Panora; and Jaisa (Bob) Heath of Jefferson; granddaughter, Elena Heath; parents, Terry and Connie Buttler of Guthrie Center; and sister, Lynnette Buttler (Ernie Rickabaugh) and nephew, Parker Rickabaugh of Slidell, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred & Mary Buttler and Harold & Norma Jean Curl.

Celebration of Life Services will be Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2-4 P.M. at the Yale Community Building, Yale, Iowa.
