Stephanie Rae McCombs and James Lee Rus gave birth to their son, Trevor James, on August 5, 1968, at the Pella Community Hospital in Pella, Iowa. Trevor attended Pella High School in Pella. As a young boy he began a lifelong interest in restoring cars along with his Dad, Jim, and his Grandfather, Germ Rus, a better-than-ever Rus tradition. Trevor had a passion for electricity and sought and found early employment with various businesses in and around the Pella area. Tami Kay Little and Trevor shared their lives together along with his parents, Stephanie and Jim, and together raised their son, Skylar James, in their home in Tracy, Iowa. Trevor continued a career in doing electrical work advancing from being a lineman to becoming a journeyman with the IBEW Union. Trevor never gave up his desire to restore cars and was presently working on a 1965 Chevy. On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the age of 54 years, Trevor unexpectedly had a cardiac arrest at his home in Tracy and subsequently passed away at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Trevor is survived by his 20 year old son, Skylar James, his mother, Stephanie Rus, his maternal grandmother, Elvira (Simmons) McCombs of Tracy, Iowa, and his fiancée, Tami Kay Little, all of Tracy. Tami’s family includes her son, Trent Little, and his three children: Brexton, Teagan, and Greyson Little, her son, Ty Little, and her father, Jerry (Dorothy) Findlow, all of Monroe, Iowa. Trevor’s extended family are his Aunts and Uncles: Tomma Lou (McCombs) and Dan Beaver, Steve and Jody McCombs all of Tracy, Cindy (McCombs) and Ron Voss of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Melanie (McCombs) and Melvin Wichhart and Shannon McCombs of Tracy, Emily Kay (Rus) Hagens and H. Gene De Heer, Peggy Ann (Rus) and Steven Klein and their families all of Pella.

Trevor was preceded in death by his dad, James Rus, on May 17, 2019, at the age of 68 years; his paternal grandparents, Germent James Rus in 1995 at the age of 66 years and Helen (McWilliams) Rus in 2011; and his maternal grandfather, Adelbert (Buddy) McCombs in 1995 at the age of 66 years.
