Paul Richard Ostring, Jr. was born to Paul and Laurena Ostring of Waukee, IA on December 26, 1942. Most of his life was spent around the Des Moines area. He died at home surrounded by his family on December 23, 2014.
He is survived by his long time and loving life partner of 25 years, Donna Reese; his four children, Paul R. Ostring III of Denver, CO, Chad (Dorci) Ostring of Ankeny, IA, Jodi Pote of Prole, IA and Tory (Terri) Harding of Norwalk, IA; his grandchildren, Ryan, Troy, Cory, Kylea, Caitlyn, and Madi; his most precious and beloved dog, Lola; also surviving him, Donna’s family, Darin (Rene) Reese, Brian (Devon) Reese; grandchildren, Jordan, Jamie, Brady and Andrew; his sister, Nancy Deimerly; nephews, Todd, Chris and their families.
Paul was his own person always; he was a perfectionist, a car lover, animal advocate, very proud 347 IBEW member and democrat. His hobbies were his classic cars and his Harley which he worked on with his buddy Lola at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Laurena; and Donna’s son, Kevin Reese. The family extends a special thank you to his doctors, nurses, hospice and all those who have supported the family during this time. Memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
A visitation will be held 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2014 at Brooks Funeral Care, University Chapel. A private burial will take place at Waukee Cemetery.
