Norman (Boompa) Francis Reeck, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 27th, 2023. He resided in Urbandale, Iowa for over 60 years. According to Norman's final wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Norman was born to parents John George Reeck and Subrigi (Sebbie) Gibson Reeck In Des Moines, Iowa on March 27th, 1929. He was one of 13 children. He worked as a Union Journeyman Electrician for over 45 years, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers. He was employed by Albright Electric and ABC Electric before his retirement. Norman fell in love with Josephine Gertrude Reeck (O'Boyle) when they were in their teenage years and they married in Des Moines, Iowa in 1947. They were often described as "soulmates" by those who knew and loved them. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage together and welcomed 6 children – Norma, Frances, Patrick, Sally, Teddy, And Tammy. Norman loved spending time with his family more than anything. Norman was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed multiple fishing and camping trips with friends and family. He enjoyed lounging and picnicking in his yard with his wife and relatives. He enjoyed photographing wildlife and birdwatching - he was particularly fond of deer, hawks, foxes, and hummingbirds. Norman also had a green thumb and could often be found tending to his extravagant yard where he grew multiple kinds of wildflowers. Norman loved spending time with his family playing card games such as poker. He got to become a dad, a grandpa, a great grandpa, and even a great-great grandpa. Norman was frequently described as silly and fun-loving. He was an incredibly bright soul who meant the world to those lucky enough to know him. He was truly one of a kind.

He is reunited in death with his loving wife Josephine Reeck. He is preceded in death by his parents John George and Sebbie Reeck, Brothers- Louis, Fred, Jack, and Wayne, sisters- Della, Lelia, Alberta, Virginia, Arlene, Flora, Jean, and May Lou. He is also rejoined in death with multiple grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Norman Reeck is survived by his 6 children- Norma, Frances, Patrick, Sally, Teddy, and Tammy. He is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives who continue to cherish their loving memories of him. Norman has been cremated as per his wishes by the Cremation Society of Iowa, and there will be no funeral services held. His Urn has been placed alongside his wife in the home they lived in together and will remain with his surviving children.
